This will be a 75 minute practice. We will open with some breathing and a few relaxing yoga poses to prepare you for Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra also known as Yogic Sleep is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and go to Deep Sleep, yet remain awake.
Yoga Nidra is a practice in total systematic conscious relaxation. This state is reached by separating the external awareness of the physical body through various stages. It results in a state where you are asleep with a trace of awareness, relaxing both the mind and the body deeply. Yoga Nidra brings an incredible calmness, quietness and clarity. Yoga Nidra is one of the deepest of all meditations, leading awareness through many levels of mental process to a state of stillness and insight.
Please bring your favorite pillow and blanket. It is recommended that you wear light, loose, comfortable clothing.
